What I Think (1994)
Karlheinz Deschner: "As far into the past we
look, it seems that the main object of empires and states has been
to fleece the common people, to shear and slaughter at will, as
much as the flags, the leaders and the mottoes may have differed.
The predation is usually legitimate and lawful, royally sanctioned.
From this perspective, statecraft is the only art which never requires
new inspiration, democracy is only the latest means to hoodwink
the people with lofty words, and the only system that -- for the
time being -- deserves any faith is the solar system."

For a Bit of Meat (1998)
The Blackest of Crimes
(With an afterword by Nelly Moia) .
Christian John, writing in Diesseits: "This 88-page
volume For a Bit of Meat shows another side of the religion critic
Karlheinz Deschner. It is a collection of texts dealing with 'the
blackest of crimes,' namely, the suffering which humans inflict
upon animals. The book contains aphorisms and three essays of this
angry, aging man."
